기능성 분자 소재 합성 연구, 정보저장 소재로서의 분자 자성체 합성, 특이한 물성을 갖는 특수 고분자 중합용 메탈로센계 분자 촉매 합성 및 중합 특성 연구, 다양한 발광 분자 소재의 합성과 소자 응용 연구 등 많은 업적을 남기셨다. (주) 디엔에프를 제자와 공동으로 창업하여 과학 기술 인재 양성, 학문 발전 및 국가 경제 발전에 기여하셨다. 220여건의 논문, 50여명의 석사 및 박사 고급 인력을 양성하셨다.
